Hi, I’m Kyra and a graphic designer based in Memphis, TN. My journey into design grew out of a love for art history and global history, paired with my early passion for drawing and painting. I wanted a career that not only nurtured my creativity but also allowed me to explore who I am as an artist and individual, and graphic design became that path.

I began exploring graphic design in my freshman year of college. At first, I struggled with patience, wanting to immediately produce work that matched the skill level of others around me. Often, I felt behind or outpaced creatively. But with time, I discovered how to illustrate and create shapes in Adobe Illustrator, gradually building my confidence. I experimented with poster design, incorporated photography into projects, and never lost touch with my love of history, especially through art history classes.

As I grew, I dedicated myself to developing my own style, learning how to integrate different art forms into my design practice and becoming more strategic in my approach. I found inspiration everywhere, often photographing unusual or funky typography to later recreate and practice.

My professional journey took an important step at Lenny’s Grill & Subs, where I transitioned from designing for myself to designing for a real-world brand. There, I expanded into marketing design, learning how visuals support broader business goals, an area I continue to grow in today.

Beyond design, I enjoy photography as a hobby, often capturing food, flowers, and landscapes during travels or everyday explorations. I’m also an avid museum goer, frequently visiting art and science exhibits, and I love supporting local art communities through pop-up vendor events.

Outside the creative space, I find joy in simple experiences like discovering new coffee shops, tending to my backyard herb garden, and staying active at the gym. My appreciation for Korean art and Asian culture continues to shape my creative perspective, inspiring the way I approach both personal projects and professional design work.
