City Life Magazine

Problem & Solution
The challenge was figuring out how to represent Memphis in a way that felt authentic rather than generic. Relying only on stock imagery or surface-level references overall made the project less enjoyable. To solve this, I explored downtown Memphis, photographing landmarks and everyday experiences to feature under “Things to Do in Memphis,” while also showcasing the city’s vibrant outdoor settings. For the advertisements, I took a more personal approach, capturing flowers at the Memphis Botanical Gardens and even photographing a ramen bowl I prepared myself. By combining original photography with thoughtful design choices, I was able to build a magazine that offered a fresh, genuine perspective of Memphis life.
